Making Metrics Make a Difference (SD1-01) Product ID: 00000026 Abstract:
Metrics are essential in the development, enhancement, and maintenance of robust, resilient and usable software systems. Software engineering has a rapidly evolving body of metrics which practitioners can use and modify to suit their needs. When a suitable metric is not available, making ones own metrics is certainly a helpful option.
However, not all metrics are helpful at all times. The key skill in harnessing the power of metrics is to know how and when they can make a difference for the better. Through the use of simple, intuitive metrics and real life examples, this webinar analyzes situations where metrics can add value to the software development process. Some common pitfalls associated with the use and misuse of metrics are also discussed.
If you are involved in enterprise software development as a manager, architect, technical lead, or developer metrics can contribute significantly towards meeting your goals. This webinar will help you get the best out of your metrics.
